I specialize in treating a variety of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, behavioural concerns, substance use, and relational issues and family dynamics, using a variety of therapies, including CBT, DBT, ABA, and EMDR. The type of therapy, or combination of types, that best supports your goals is chosen collaboratively, and can look different depending on what you want to achieve. I work with some populations that may require a more specialized approach, including individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, first responders or public safety personnel, and individuals with acquired brain injuries.

A formal assessment can provide the information you need. Assessments of intellectual capacity and daily living skills are often done to determine eligibility for funding from Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD; a branch of the Alberta government). Assessments of decision-making skills, also called capacity assessments, are done to determine if an individual has the ability to be independent with his or her decision-making after turning 18. These assessments are often required with requests for guardianship and/or trusteeship.
These tools can be custom-built to suit your needs. You don't need a large investment in technology to be able to take advantage of what is available and have a simple-to-use tool that helps you analyze and report behavioural data. As an organization or an individual, this can reduce administrative burdens and enable better decision-making.
